All seven religions

Each religion you choose gets its own tile with its beliefs, teachings and practices, and a Themes tile covers the ethics and philosophy themes on your course.

Christianity

The nature of God, creation, Jesus, salvation and the afterlife; worship, sacraments, pilgrimage, festivals and the Church in the world.

Catholic Christianity

Creation, incarnation, the Triune God, redemption and eschatology; the sacraments, the Mass, sacred spaces and Catholic sources of authority.

Islam

Tawhid, the six articles of faith, angels, prophethood and the holy books; the Five Pillars, the Ten Obligatory Acts, jihad and festivals.

Judaism

The nature of God, the covenants, the Messiah and life after death; worship in the synagogue and home, rituals, dietary laws and festivals.

Buddhism

The Buddha, the Dhamma, the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path and the Three Marks of Existence; meditation, worship, festivals and ethics.

Hinduism

Brahman and the deities, atman, karma, samsara and moksha; puja, the mandir, pilgrimage, festivals such as Diwali, and dharma.

Sikhism

God, the Gurus, mukti and sewa; the gurdwara, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Five Ks, the langar and festivals.

Themes

Relationships and families, religion and life, the existence of God and revelation, peace and conflict, crime and punishment, and human rights and social justice, with non-religious views where your course asks for them.

Plus a mock test across the course. Topic names vary between boards; the app shows the topics in your own specification.

Quotations you can trust

Sacred-text quotations are short, come with their reference and are taken word for word from public-domain translations, such as the World English Bible, the JPS 1917 Tanakh and Pickthall's Qur'an. Each one is checked against the stored text. Other teachings are given in plain words with their reference.

Respectful and balanced

Beliefs are explained as each tradition holds them ("Many Muslims believe…"), and where views differ, such as Catholic and Protestant or Sunni and Shi'a, the app shows the range.
